Angioidstreaksarecharacteristiclinear,narrowsubretinalstreaksthatradiatefromaperipapillaryareatothemaculaandmidperipheralfundus.Angioidstreakstypically
appearintheseconddecadeandareusuallybilateral.Theymaybeassociatedwithsystemicdiseaseinapproximately50%ofpatients.Visuallossusuallyresultsfromsecondarychoroidalneovascularization（CNV）.
Choroidalneovascularizationmayoccurwithangioidstreaks.Choroidalneovascularizationissuggestedbythepresenceofsubretinalfluidandsubretinalhemorrhage.SubretinalhemorrhagewithoutCNVmayalsooccuralongtheangioidstreakswithminoroculartrauma.
