【Abstract】AIM:Tostudythetherapeuticeffectofthreedifferentelectromagneticwavesonallergicrhinitisandtoexplorenewapproachesofitsclinicalapplication.METHODS:Onehundredandfiftyninepatientsdiagnosedasallergicrhinitiswererandomlydividedintothreegroups.Forthepatientsingroup1,bilateralyingxiang,anacupuncturepoint,wereirradiatedwithmillimeterwaveatapowerdensitylessthan10mW/cm2for20min,oncedaily.Forthepatientsingroup2,bilateralsidesofthenosewereirradiatedwithradiofrequencywave,mildheating,10-15min,oncedaily.Forthepatientsingroup3,nasalmucosawasirradiatedwithshortwaveultravioletwave,8MED~,oncedaily.RESULTS:Thetotaleffectivenessratewas68.0%inmillimeterwavegroup,59.3%inshortwaveultravioletgroupand29.1%inradiofrequencywavegroup.Thedifferenceinthetreatmenteffectsbetweenthegroupswasmarkedlysignificant(P<0.01).Sixpatientsintheshortwaveultravioletraysgroupand5intheradiofrequencygroupcomplainedrespectivelyofnasaldrynessandtransientdizzinessaftertreatment.CONCLUSION:Millimeterwaveandshortwaveultravioletraysaremuchmoreeffectivethanradiofrequencywaveinthetreatmentofallergicrhinitisandultravioletirradiationissimpletoperform.Thethreeelectromagneticwaverhavelittlesideeffectsonthetreatmentofallergicrhinitis.......
